enough to attend college with, like from FAFSA, that you have to take out loans each semester also, is this true or not ? How so ?
That would depend on how much money a person has to their own name and if their parents are helping them pay for college. Myself, I am attending a four year college with an average of 12,000 dollar tuition per year (about 15 credits per semester) but this doesn’t include room and board, parking permit, textbooks, other fees like health and sports, etc. Myself, I get absolutely no parental help in paying for college and I wasn’t able to get a summer job (I tried….only takes 100 applications to get denied by 100 different places). Frankly, if I didn’t get any financial aid, I was be scewed….I wouldn’t be going to college. Not only that, my older sister is understanding of the financial situation of me so she will give me a couple hundred dollars,…she’ll claim I deserved it since I babysat her kids ofr a couple of hours but I know better. Honestly, without my sisters contrabution I wouldn’t have been able to attend college this fall semester that just ended. But, I know plenty of students who have parents that pay for all of the college bill, and some that only pay for half, than some parents only pay for the school supplies like textbooks (as is the case with my current roomate)…but she also had a job for several years prior and had money saved up and she works a few s days a week currently, so she has enough money for a year and a half or mores tuition already. Other than that I will also see some students who claim they can’t afford college buy yet they go out and buy new clothes from places like Hollister every month and they order Pizza Hut all the time…

I obtained these websites from my community college.
I wish you the best.
I live in NJ, if that matters.
Is financial aid available for certification programs? My local college is offering a Medical Office Assistant program. It’s approx. 12 weeks and costs about $4000.
As far as I know it is the same allowance for adults.
There could be different rules in other States.
Most education facilities encourage adults to improve their chances, and keep some places open just for mature students.
If you budget right is it at all possible to just use grants and financial aid from fafsa or do people have to take out these huge loans to afford college?
Well, you can only use grants if you qualify for them (usually around the poverty level or below). Some individuals get scholarships that help reduce the cost of school, or get full scholarships that cover the total cost. In addition, some attend community college and pay out-of-pocket and then transfer to a lower-cost 4-year (in-state) public university. People who take out huge loans are being ridiculous in my opinion (with the exception with some professional degrees). You just have to choose a school you can afford. You could go to school for $8,000/year or $60,000/year depending on the school you choose.
If you choose an affordable school, and don’t take refunds on loans for stupid stuff or living expenses (that’s what a job is for), then you won’t find yourself overwhelmed in debt.
My roommate and I are looking to move out with a third roommate into apartments that are income restricted. Together we make about 2,000 a month, but with financial aid, I alone get 12,000 for a year. My roommate gets 6,000 but she has to put it into savings for her summer classes. So is financial aid included for income restricted apartments in Washington State?
Thanks for answering!
Yes, all income is included. I doubt they accept students.
The college I attend has tuition paid, and my EFC (expected family contribution) is a little more than I can afford, but we manage. However, as a coming psychology and English double major— My books are expensive. I was wondering if anyone had any idea on where I can find and apply for scholarships for an undergrad sophomore.
Thanks.

I’m a Sophomore, so I still have a little time. I will be the first person in my family that I know of to go to college. I have good grades, and I bowl for scholarship money, but when should I start looking and applying for other scholarships?
You can start now by volunteering and keeping track of all your community service hours. You can also start a file to put in all your honors, awards, certificates, etc… Keep your grades up and take AP classes.
I’m impressed that you are starting your scholarship search already!!
My husband is deploying soon and I am planning on going to school online. Can I get scholarships for that? And can I start applying for them now? Any good websites with a list of scholarships?
Please and thank you.
Yes there are scholarships available for people in your situation. check out the article below for a source of scholarship offers.

Is it possible that most of my tuition (in optometry school) can be covered by student loans and grants?
Optometry college is after undergrad obviously…so it’s graduate school. Shouldn’t the government offer better and more loans to future doctors of America? I heard money isn’t really a problem in graduate school because the government offers huge loans. I don’t mind if it’s a huge amount of money since I’ll have a pretty decent salary.
