I live in NJ, if that matters.
Is financial aid available for certification programs? My local college is offering a Medical Office Assistant program. It’s approx. 12 weeks and costs about $4000.
As far as I know it is the same allowance for adults.
There could be different rules in other States.
Most education facilities encourage adults to improve their chances, and keep some places open just for mature students.

There are tons of college scholarships available for the returning or adult student. The first thing you should do is fill out a FAFSA report to see if there is any federal aid available. Typically there is. The government loves to give money for adults returning to school because they believe that an educated citizen is a good citizen. They will probably give you a substantial amount of money, though there is no guarantee. You could also just google it. I was going to copy and paste a bunch of links but you can just google it yourself because there are so many.

Go there to fill out the FAFSA
The only stipulation is that you have to be a part of a school that they recognize. If you are in a community college or junior college then you are probably in the clear. You also have to be degree seeking and I’m not sure what type of certificate you are getting so that may be something you want to enter in when filling out the app.
Hope this helped
