Often Moms have the desire to go back to school to further their education, but they think that they can’t afford it. But, now the Obama college grants for moms combined with other available financial aid, you can actually have most or all of your educational expenses taken care of.

    Comparing Student Loans and Grants

If you don’t use grants or scholarships, the other way you can finance your education is a student loan. But, loans involve going into a long-term indebtedness, and they can end up costing quite a lot in the long run.

Grants and scholarships, however, do not have to be paid back; they are basically a gift. So, of course, these are the better choice if you have the option available to obtain them.

Some Grants Available for Education through the Government

Grants and scholarships are available through the Federal government to help pay for your education. These include:

The Pell Grant: This is the most widely known grant and the one most people apply for. It is based on your financial need. This will make this grant perfect for many moms who are low-income and struggling, but are motivated to go back to school and improve their lives.

The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH): This grant is for college students who are studying to be teachers.

The National Science & Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant ( SMART ): This grant is available to third and fourth year college students who are studying in a science or math-related field.

President Obama is very committed to helping moms obtain financial aid to go to college. You should make an effort to obtain any grants and scholarships that you can. Even if you don’t meet the financial income requirements for some of the programs, there are other ways that you can fund for your education.
